It is fun and really isn’t that hard to do, especially when the labor is divided. My 14 year old does the main task of making the soap mixture on the stove (she has her face covered because of the lye, which becomes less dangerous once it’s heated), but I do the grating. Tomorrow we melt down our first batch, scent it and put it into molds to sell at two events this weekend.
I tried to go into making soapmaking once (spent a lot of money, too), but never got around to making anything! ~lol~ It would be nice to try again sometime.
Very cool! I had no idea that the process was more involved than just mixing and pouring though! I bought some goat milk soap from a lady at a local flea market a few weeks ago, now I appreciate it even more!
Very neat! I have always wanted to try that!
I am with Ellen, I have always wanted to try that
neato burrito.
I love this! I can’t wait to hear how it all turns out and if you like it.
That’s pretty cool!
I’ve looked into soap making a few times, but have never tried doing it.
Wow, I can’t believe you made that!
I think it’s really neat that you make your own soap.
So so so neat! I’m trying to get my ‘crafty’ on just to make my own liquid soap. So far it hasn’t happened, LOL!
I think that is just the neatest thing to try and do!

I’m so glad you posted this! I really want to make my own soap and now you’ve inspired me to do so! Thank you!
Glad to have inspired you, Jennifer!
My cousin had dairy goats and makes cheese. Not sure if she’s tried soap yet.
Doesn’t seem too hard! I hope you sell it all!!
