Our children have always loved playing in the leaves in the fall. When they were really little they had to go to grandma’s or the park to play in them. This year is no different even with a few of them in their teens! They have just as much fun as they did when they were younger. Our boys pretended the leaf pile was a ship today and used the rakes poking out of the leaves to be their cannons or guns. Pretty clever. Glad they still have an imagination!
P.S. They appear closer to the road than they actually are because there is a dipped stretch of grass between the lawn and the shoulder of the road. Our children are usually not allowed to play out in the front yard. However, we have more trees out front than out back so for fall fun and under supervision they can.
A love fall! We used to have a whole lot more trees in our yard and our entire 2 acres would be covered in leaves (a pain to rake, but lots of fun, too), but our power company took down the majority of them 2 years ago. It’s still a touchy subject with my husband.
Love that they can enjoy the new season! Sorry about all that mess you’ll have to clean up though!

The yard of the house I grew up in had lots of big oak trees. We used to play in the leaves.
