Funky Monkey Fruit Snacks

Funky Monkey Snacks are truly funky fruit snacks that are all natural and just fruit. Freeze dried fruit to be exact. Our family enjoyed these snacks. Each of these snacks had their own unique taste. I think I can honestly say that I do not think we have tasted anything quite like them. In a good, funky way. There is no other way to describe it. Here are the flavors for you to decide for yourself:

Purple Funk (banana with acai)

Applemon (apple with cinnamon)

MangOJ (mango with orange juice)

Pink Pineapple (pineapple with guava)

Bananamon (banana with cinnamon)

Jivealime (pineapple with lime)
Carnaval Mix (pineapple, banana, apple, papaya)

Pretty clever, huh?

The only thing is these packages only contain .42 ounces of fruit. Not very much and not very filling when you have a crew of growing little people. But these would definitely serve as a traveling treat, since we like to get convenient little snacks like these for our road trips. It is something new and fun.

Funky Monkey Snacks are 100% fruit, 95% organic, all natural, raw food and gluten free, GMO free, peanut/tree nut free and Kosher. No preservatives, Mom! Gotta love that.

The .42 oz bags are sold in a box of 12 for $15.48. 1 oz bags are sold in a box of 12 for about $30.00

Review ~ Spiffies Wipes

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Spiffies Tooth Wipes Natural Grape Flavor

I am pleased to review Spiffies Wipes. This innovative product has been a hit in our household! This product is an alternative to teeth brushing in young children. The wipe is a convenient square that is then wrapped around the finger. This, the finger with the wipe is used to brush the teeth. I have used these wipes on both my 2 year old and my 4 year old. The 2 year old prefers to use a regular toothbrush but will tolerate using the wipes. I think she likes the control of being able to brush her teeth on her own with the toothbrush, where I brush her teeth wit h the wipes. However, my 4 year old LOVES the wipes. He allows me to brush/wipe his teeth without any fuss.

The wipes come in various flavors. We were given grape and apple to try. Both flavors were well received by my children http://www.spiffies.com/default.aspen without and “ick” factor. The only drawback to the product is once the wipe comes off your finger it leaves a sticky residue on your finger/hand. But it comes off easily after a quick hand washing with soap!

This product contains Xylitol, which is a natural food substance, which gently fights cavity-causing bacteria. I believe this is a great product for children who are reluctant to brush, as well as a supplement for children who like to brush…you cannot go wrong with extra dental hygiene! This product can be found at most Drug Stores or at http://www.spiffies.com/default.asp

Review ~ Eardoc

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

This is an interesting product. We have used this a few times and in each instance my children have said that their ear pain has diminished using the product. I have not had any ear pain myself so I can only rely on the honesty of my children.

The product boasts the ability to relive ear pain immediately (which we did experience). It also states that it can be an alternative to ear tube surgery. This is a wonderful asset to the product because we went through this surgical process with my youngest and I wish there was a product like this out there when we were going through the process of ear infections.

How does the Eardoc work? “Ear doc treats an ear infection by naturally opening the clogged Eustachian tubes, therefore allowing drainage of accumulated fluids outside of the middle ear and relieving the associated ear pain.” ~ Eardoc website http://www.eardoc.info/

Basically, the Eardoc works by vibration…a vibration goes through the Eardoc and when placed behind the ear the vibration helps open the ear tubes. The vibration can be large or small, as the Eardoc has a mechanism on the side to adjust the vibration. The vibration is slight and does not hurt, even at the highest setting.

All in all, this is a unique product that actually works! I will continue using it and provide my children with a natural way of relieving ear pain!

Nature Crops Bars

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

I was sent all three bars by NatureCrops . I was really excited to try these bars as they are all natural, contain no high-fructose corn syrup, and are made with organic quinoa. And are gluten free.

We got to try the Quinoa and Almond, Quinoa and Prunes, and Quinoa and Strawberry bars.

Nearly all of our family loves quinoa, which we usually eat in a soup. I know, I know, quinoa in soup is very different than in a bar. I am just saying that to share that we have actually tasted quinoa and trying these bars is not our first exposure to it. Nevertheless, we were disappointed in the Quinoa and Almond bar. I thought it tasted rather stale and I did not care very much for it. I found all three bars rather dry. For some reason (perhaps because of our soup), I expected them to be more moist than dry. The Quinoa and Prunes, and Quinoa and Strawberry bars tasted alot better then the Quinoa and Almond bar, but overall I did not like the taste of Nature Crops bars as well as other bars I have tried. I wish I could say I did, but sorry I cannot. :( Everyone’s taste buds are different though.

We divided these bars up into little pieces so that everyone could try them and the younger children did not seem to mind them at all and asked for more. While my oldest did not care for them. The next two say they liked the prune one best, then the strawberry and then the almond. Just proves what I said, everyone’s taste buds are very different!

***Closed***Popchips a Tasty Treat Giveaway

Congratulations to Ellen! You won this giveaway! Winner chosen by Random.org. Thanks to all who entered and to Popchips for sponsoring this great giveaway!!!

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review, thanks to Popchips.com and Happy Healthy Moms Product Review Team. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Popchips are an all natural snack. It is a potato chip that is not fried or baked. Popchips are made with a little heat and pressure, then pop! a Popchip has been created. Popchips are seasoned with all natural ingredients, are free of any added preservatives, added colors or flavors. They come in 7 different flavors – Original, Barbeque, Sea Salt & Vinegar, Salt & Pepper, Parmesan Garlic, Cheddar and Sour Cream & Onion. Popchips have less than half the fat of fried chips, no trans fats, no cholesterol and the only flavors to have a teeny tiny bit of saturated fat is sour cream & onion and cheddar, containing .5g of saturated fat.

Popchips.com has a list of all the nutritional facts and ingredients in each bag. Full disclosure. Gotta like that.

We received a sample pack of Popchips. They were actually very yummy. They tasted like potato chips, obviously, right? Yet at the same time they were different. They crunchy to eat, were not greasy like regular potato chips.

Here is our family’s voting results on the Popchips flavors:

#1 Barbeque
#2 Cheddar
#3 Sea Salt & Pepper
#4 Original
#5 Parmesan Garlic
#6 Sour Cream & Onion
#7 Salt & Vinegar

We thought Popchips were a tasty, all natural treat and even though we all had our personal favorites we definitely like Popchips.

For the month of December, Popchips is offering Facebook Fans (old & new) an opportunity to save $1 off their next bag of Popchips! All you have to do is be a Popchips fan (“like”) on facebook. Health And Garden Tuesday: Top 12 Cosmetic Companies Are Actually Harmful

Here is a list of 12 cosmetic companies that are actually harmful. These may be popular, but they are actually very harmful to your body.

Here is a list of the top 12 cosmetic companies:

1. Maybelline *
2. Mary Kay *
3. Estee Lauder *
4. Lancome
5. Clinique
6. L’Oreal
7. Chanel
8. Max Factor
9. Cover Girl *
10. Neutrogena
11. Revlon
12. Avon *

And here is our list of how harmful they are:

12- Mary Kay- Mary Kay is the lowest of all the cosmetic companies that are harmful. Only a 7. But that’s still pretty hazardous. (see here)

11- Maybelline-Maybelline’s products aren’t that pretty either. Their product that contains the most toxins reaches a 8 on the “scale”. (see here)

10- Lancome- Some of Lancome’s products also reach a rating of 8. (see here)

9- Chanel- Chanel also reaches a bad rating for quite a few of their products. They get a 8. (see here)

8- Clinique- It seems 8 is a popular number as Clinique also reaches a 8 on the scale.(see here)

7- Max Factor- Most of Max Factors products are either a 7 or a 8 on Cosmetic Database. (see here)

6- Neutrogena- Neutrogena’s products aren’t good for your body as they reach a 9 on Cosmetic Database. (see here)

5- ESTÉE LAUDER- ESTÉE LAUDER also has some 0 rated products but, they also have some pretty nasty ratings as well on Cosmetic Database. Including some 9’s.(see here)

4- Avon- Avon has some products that are ranked as a 0 on Cosmetic Database. But if you got to the second page you’ll see plenty of 7’s, 8’s, and 9’s. So I’ll have to watch what I buy from them! (see here)

3- Cover Girl- This may be a shocker but Cover Girl is a 9 as well. Some of their products are a okay rating but we found ALOT of their products are either a 7,8, or 9. (see here)

2- Loreal- Loreal also has plenty of products with a toxic rating of 6,7,8,9, and 10! (see here)

1- Revlon- And the big the most toxic cosmetic company on our list is….. REVLON! Yep, although this comapny has SOME non-toxic products. 500 + of their products are either a 6,7,8,9, or 10! (see here)

Happy Tuesday!

Review of Clementine Art Supplies

I received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While I consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, my review is my honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

I received Clementine Art’s Natural Paint Set to review and here is my review.

natural_paint_image (1)

My children thought that the Clementine Art paint painted really well! No clumps, and it dried fast too! It washes of very well. Which is GREAT! :)

My second eldest daughter thought that it would have been nice to have some white or black in the kit as she could not make a day time scene in her picture as the paint was too dark. She had white and black in her other paint supplies but we chose to stick with using only the Clementine Art product we were provided for. My oldest daughter reported that the paint containers seemed to tip over easily so with younger children it might be best to have an adult helping.

One other observation that the girls made was that the colors do not dry true to the color that they appear. They dry a lighter shade of the color. This happens when you dry the pictures inside and outside in the sun. The colors look almost like pastels when dried.

We thought that it was nice that all of the Clementine Art Supplies where are natural. They have no chemical dyes, or other additives! How neat?
