***Closed***12 Days of Christmas Giveaways – Day 9 – EZ Sox

Congratulations to Shannon! You won this giveaway! Thanks to all who entered and to the wonderful sponsors! Winner chosen by random.org

On the ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to YOU! A pair of EZ Sox from EZ Sox!

EZ Sox (as seen below) are a wonderful gift idea for baby showers, for parents with toddlers, and a great stocking stuffer for toddlers and young kids. For parents of special needs children, EZ Sox addresses a daily need and offers these children self-sufficiency and empowerment.

Created by parents who tired of seeing their young son struggle dressing himself, Eileen and Ronnie Gesser designed socks with pull-up loops on both sides of each sock, and fun graphics on the tops of the socks. In no time, their son was no longer frustrated and proudly dressing himself. Today this fun and easy teaching tool for teaching kids self-sufficiency is the only one of its kind.

EZ Sox are available to you at their online retail website at http://www.ezsox.com. EZ Sox are also sold in 30 boutique stores throughout North America and one US Chain Store with 36 retail outlets. A Japanese distributor has EZ Sox in more than 70 retail stores in Japan.

My Review:

We really, really liked the frog EZ Sox that we where sent to review. My son’s face lit up when he saw them and he had no problem at all putting them on. He was able to put them on by himself on the first try. We think that they are a great product and love them! We have yet to wash them to see how well they wash up, but we’ll be sure to let you know how they wash up.

Watch this cute video to see how to use the EZ Sox:

77kids Holiday Event

Faith and Family Reviews received a stipend and gift cards for participating in the following event, thanks to The Motherhood.com and 77kids by American Eagle. While we consider it a privilege to work with companies, our thoughts and opinions are our honest opinions of the event and store.

A few weeks ago we were invited to a holiday event with American Eagle’s 77kids brand. We were very excited to receive another opportunity to work with them! Yesterday was the event and we attended a VIP kick-off party at the new Chicago area 77kids store. We got a sneak peek at the magical window displays, received free treats and got a really good look at the store itself.

The 77kids staff worked around the clock for a week to get the store ready for their November 18th opening, just three days ago. The store looked great and very festive for the season. I have to admit that I loved their winter clothing selection.

We joined other area moms and their kids as we toured the store. The children were able to explore the neat dressing rooms with “windows”, play on bean bag chairs, sit in the little birdie chair that symbolizes the 77kids brand (our youngest daughter loved that it was pink and located in the little girl section!), and use the store’s camera to take some very unique looking photos, which were printed out at the register. Then we enjoyed shopping with the gift card we were provided especially for this event. Our older girls got socks, gloves, pj bottoms and a camisole, while our youngest was a bit spoiled by yours truly (well, to be honest she tends to be spoiled by all of us!) and received a dress and leggings. Our boys got new watches and at the risk of being unpopular among our readership, I didn’t buy our two little guys anything. They really didn’t need anything. As it was, I went over my alloted gift card, but the children did so well that I wanted to treat them to something they actually needed. Besides, who doesn’t like something new now and then? Last night I did a few freelance jobs to almost pay for the overage anyways. Thank God for work-at-home opportunities.

Below you will find some fantastic photos from our morning at Schaumburg’s 77kids store:

The only disappointing thing about this event was the miscommunication that occurred preventing us from enjoying breakfast at the store with the whole Chicago group. But, hey, we live in an imperfect world and things like this happen. Everything else was great, as you can see from the above photos.

Giving Back

In addition to kicking off the grand opening of their new store, 77kids is outdoing themselves on the charity front as well. They are donating to local children’s hospitals. So this is where we need your help. If you go to the 77kids holiday microsite and create a digital snowflake – it’s easy, fast and fun – and with 100,000 snowflakes, 77kids will donate $25,000 to the Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago! This is a wonderful opportunity for all of you to get involved too.

Keep your eye open for our upcoming giveaway of a 77kids gift card this week!

Review of My Vintage Baby Clothing

I received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While I consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, my review is my honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Family June 2010 149

Family June 2010 158

I received this gorgeous outfit from My Vintage Baby. It is from their Summer Days collection (scroll down to Summer Days) and we really love it! It is a two piece capris set that is teal with pink flowers. We think it looks darling on our daughter and she loves it because it has pink in it! She is always asking to wear this adorable little outfit. :)

The outfit did not seem to shrink when we washed it, but we didn’t dry it in the dryer or outside on the line because I didn’t want the colors to fade. So the dryer may cause some shrinkage, but I cannot tell you for sure that since we didn’t use ours.

Girls and Dresses

Our girls love dresses, well, most of them do most of the time. This year with the help of friends and each other our two older girls made their own civil war dresses for an annual event that we have become a part of – Liberty Day. Liberty Day is usually held in February-March. This year it was on March 20th. It is usually a day long conference of learning history from a constitutional perspective, then in the evening there is an event called the Liberty Day celebration. The celebration includes skits, music, special performance of the 2nd Virginia Convention and an hour or so of dancing the Virginia Reel and other dances from that time period – all in costumes from many different eras, not just the civil war.

This annual affair has become a delight to our girls. They love picking out patterns, fabric and notions for their dresses. The past couple of years they have even purchased all their materials with their own money. It helps that both of them have Christmas and birthdays early in the year to put their gift money towards their coveted costumes.

In some ways, this is a rather extravagant affair since they really don’t wear their dresses anywhere else except when they act out their own plays at home. However, we have heard of friends wearing their dresses to places like Old World Wisconsin, Williamsburg and other places that are very historical. The thing is, I hate to squelch the desire they have to create, sew and be a part of the event itself. They have a blast making the dresses and then when they come home from Liberty Day talk of nothing else for several days! These are the things that make memories for them to treasure their whole lives.

The Children’s Place – Review of New Spring Outfits

Thanks to The Children’s Place for surprising me with their generosity…they sent me three beautiful dressy outfits for three of my children for me to review! The PR rep really caught me by surprise when I opened the box to discover what she sent. My children were very excited and pleased.

I am excited to show you a little video of my little girl twirling in her new dress. Not only is her new dress pink – her favorite color, but it fans out when she spins! The pleasures of being a little girl! She was the most excited of the three children, I must say. Therefore, I just have to share the video first, then the rest…

P.S. Excuse my boxes, as we have been boxing up stuff to give away and pack away! (Blush!)

For our daughter, we received a pink, green and white sun dress called Stylin’ Sunshine Girl – Pleated Dress. It retails for $29.50.

These items washed up really well with minimal shrinkage, but to be on the safe side in the second washing of my daughter’s dress, I hung it dry or at least tumble dried it. The green of the dress will run, as we had that happen when my daughter got chocolate on the front of the dress and we had to soak it. So just be careful not to soak it long.

February 2010 032

The boys received linen dress shirts with a matching knit vest. The first is the Classic ‘n Cool for our youngest son – Argyle Sweater Vest and lavender/purple Linen Shirt. The vest retails for $19.50 and the shirt $16.50.

February 2010 031

Our older son was given the Prepped ‘n Perfect – Argyle Sweater Vest and yellow Linen Shirt. Both retail for the same amount as the smaller size, $19.50 for the vest and $16.50 for the shirt. My older son did find the linen shirt a bit itchy, but was fine with a t-shirt beneath it.

Overall we love these new spring dress clothes!
