Dots on Tots is a company striving to provide high quality organic cotton hats for babies and toddlers. Skin sensitivities are becoming more and more common among babies. By using organic materials, babies’ skin can be protected and parents can have peace of mind. Dots on Tots features innovative hat designs for girls and boys all made from natural, certified-organic cotton. They specialize in ear flap hats to protect babies from outdoor elements such as cold and wind, as well as providing protection from ear, nose, and throat infections.

My daughter had the pleasure of wearing Dots on Tots’ organic cotton Ear Protection flaphat. The natural, eco-friendly material was ultra soft and very lightweight. It’s perfect for Fall right now. It keeps her head nice and warm without overheating. The ear flaps fit securely over her ears, but were not too tight to where she was trying to pull them off. It has a nice velcro closure under the chin that stayed secure. She felt very comfortable in it.

We always go for walks in the stroller and my daughter tries to fall asleep, but sometimes she wakes up from the cars passing by or the dogs barking in the neighborhood. I noticed these noises did not bother her while she was wearing the hat, and she actually napped longer!

Dots on Tots also sells Noise Reduction Hats, which include special inserts for the ear flaps to reduce outside noises. These would be great for sporting events or any high crowd level attractions. Dots on Tots hats come in a variety of styles, sizes, and colors. Their materials are very soft and of high quality. What a great product and company!

My Kwickeye Review

Kwickeye has a wide variety of products displayed on their site. From clothes, books, toys to organizational tools for mom – I found a fabulous daily organizer from Pottery Barn on that I would love to put in my office. I also found eco-friendly clay, Pure (organic snack bars) and sweet clothing for children.

I like the idea of Kwickeye and can see how helpful it would be to busy moms, moms with family close by and far away and be a general help to moms who attend a lot of birthday parties. Moms and kids could just look up their friend’s lists and pick a cool gift based on their Kwicklist. Eliminating unnecessary gifts and returns. Bonus!

Back to school time! We received a fabulous back to school kit from our the KIWI shop that included eight back to school products. KIWI is a natural, organic online shop offering eco-friendly, organic products for parents, kids and the home.

Below are the products we used and reviewed:

Wean Green 4 oz. Wean Cubes, 4-Pack, Garden – I loved these little glass cubes! Not only are they cute and colorful but great for little snacks. I wouldn’t necessarily send my children to school with them because of the glass material but from a storage stand point they are great containers to have in the cupboard. Though a little pricey.

LiceLogic Repel Conditioning Hair Spray – I don’t think all the girls have used this product yet but one of them said they did try it and liked it. We’ve never had an issue with lice but now that we have this hopefully we will continue to enjoy a lice free life!

Facial Gel Cleanser – I know one of my girls has tried this product and she says she liked it and how it made her skin feel softer. She was experiencing a bit of a pimple outbreak on her nose and forehead and she stated this Gel Cleanser was helping get rid of it.

Eco Lunchbox – made of stainless steel and very sturdy. Love this as well as the crocodile one for younger children.

Safari Bento Box, Green Crocodile – is super cute and our son loved it for his new Vegetable Crayons!

Vegetable Crayons – My almost 3 year old loved “his” organic vegetable crayons! They were easy for him to handle and fun to use. The only thing negative I noticed is the colors are not as dark as the crayon, even the dark blue and green or red for that matter.

Kids AlternaVites STRAWBERRY 30 CT – all of our children liked the AlternaVites, except for our 14 year old. They reminded her of the antibiotic she use to have to take before she went to the dentist (she use to have a heart condition). All the children who liked the AlternaVites, asked to have their vitamins. That’s always a good sign in our house….when they don’t run away when it’s time to take any sort of supplement!

Artterro Handmade Paper Bookmaking Kit – Our children enjoyed working on the bookmaking kit together. The only thing the younger children needed my help with was the book binding. This kit makes a great rainy day craft project or a 90 degree plus day.

We really love the product mix offered for back to school! It was fun for all of us to go through the products and test them out.

BabyGanics

I am what you may consider a “Clean Freak.” With a toddler and an infant in the house I am always trying to clean to keep the germs away. Normally I have to wait until my kids are in another room because of the chemicals. Not anymore thanks to BabyGanics.

BabyGanics has a complete line of household and personal care products that are safe and effective to be used around babies. All of their ingredients are plant based, making them non-toxic and hypoallergenic. I had the pleasure of trying an All Purpose Cleaner from BabyGanics. I was anxious to start spraying, and I did not even have worry about where the kids were since it had no Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates, or Toxins. I sprayed my kitchen counters and was pleasantly surprised by the smell. Some cleaners can be so overwhelmingly strong, but the BabyGanics All Purpose Cleaner in Lavender scent was light and fresh. Compared to my usual All Purpose Cleaner, I did not have to use as much of the BabyGanics cleaner to get the job done.

This cleaner was great. I cleaned my entire kitchen including counters, appliances, and highchair with my son running around. I cannot wait to use it on everything else in the house. BabyGanics sells everything from Household Cleaners to Baby Washes and Creams. Their products are made in the U.S.A., completely recycable, and never tested on animals. Happy Family – Bright Side Campaign

As parents of eight children, we know how hard it can be at times to get a child to eat what is put before them. We do not require them to eat a plateful of something they do not like but they have to at least try a little bit of it. We learned that the hard way with our oldest child when she was little and now our youngest children thank us (or maybe not) for our foresight. (wry smile). We actually made her eat a bowlful of broccoli for fussing about it. Amazingly, she loves it to this day. The Eddy the Teddy bodysuit I received was incredibley soft. The stitching around all of the seams was very smooth and of very high quality. The only thing I didn’t like was the tag was on the inside side of the bodysuit. It rubbed a little bit, but once I cut it off, it no longer irritated. The snaps on the bottom were very easy to open and close. The material was very stretchy and moved easily with the body. The neckline was especially stretchy and easy to pull over the head. I love that their clothes are machine washable and none of the color faded after washing. The fit was perfect, the colors were great, and the feel was ultra soft. What a great product!

Keeping my baby safe is the most important thing I can do. I never realized that even clothing can be harmful to a baby’s skin. The pink stripe across the tummy with the pink bow was a perfect addiction to the bodysuit. The neck was stetchy enough to easily slip over even larger heads. The matching stretchy pants had cute little yellow ruffles around the bottoms of the legs, making it a perfect match to the bodysuit. The only thing I wish it had was some matching yellow ruffles on the butt. I loved how soft the outfit was; it almost felt like silk. This is a very high quality baby outfit. I was very impressed.

Looking for a line of skincare products that are not only organic, but are safe for the whole family? Look no further. Moody Sisters Organic Skincare is a company committed to bringing skincare back to the basics. Not only are all of the ingredients natural and organic, all of their products are homemade. Since they are homemade they are made fresh weekly. All of their products are chemical free, preservative free, paraben free, and organic. I had the opportunity to try two of their many skincare products.

The first was their Travel Intense Cream. It is suggested to be used for dry hands, feet, elbows, or at night for intense hydration. My elbows are always dry, especially in the winter. I placed just a dab of the cream on each elbow twice a day, and within three days my elbows were smooth as ever! I have tried many different moisturizers for my elbows and none of them have worked that fast. I also tried the Travel Intense Cream on my feet since they get dry this time of year, too. The first night I rubbed some on the bottom of each foot and put on some socks to lock in the cream. When I woke up I noticed a big difference in the dryness. I did the same thing for three nights in a row and could not believe how soft my feet were. Now I use it everyday on my feet and elbows after I shower to maintain. I cannot believe how well it worked. I like that a little bit of the cream goes a long way. The Travel Intense Cream is similar to a paste, but goes on smooth. It is not oily and it has an absolute wonderful smell to it. It is made with sweet almond oil, apricot kernal oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, water, green tea, aloe, oats, juniper berry, vitamin E, herbal extracts and essential oils. I would recommend it for anyone that has dry skin; you will not be disappointed!

Next I tried their Baby Wipe Solution. The solution can be used for reusable wipes or as a feminine hygiene cleanser. I used it with their Natural Bamboo Baby Wipes. Their reusable wipes are ultra soft and the perfect size for babies. They even stay soft after repeated washes. I wish they would make them in adult towel sizes, they are that amazingly soft. The solution came out almost like water and it was easy to spread over the wipe. It smelled absolutely wonderful and I feel it cleaned just as well as disposable wipes, if not better. I really like that the solution is free of chemicals. Some babies have such sensitive skin, that this solution is perfect for all babies. The Baby Wipe Solution is made with water, aloe juice, castile soap, sunflower oil, oat extract, vitamin E, lavender, rose, and tea tree oil.

Overall I was very impressed with the products from Moody Sisters Organic Skincare. They have an entire line of products for all skin types and ages including toners & scrubs, lip & eye products, and body care products. I would highly recommend these products to anyone looking for a quality skincare product that works. What a bonus that they are organic and handmade, too! Seventh Generation Wipes Review & Giveaway

Wipes are an must-have essential in a home with children, at least they are in our house. We not only use them for diaper changes, but for wiping faces, traveling and quick cleaning. Our youngest son has learned from our example and likes to get wipes to clean himself up and he will even clean with them. This is what he’s doing with the Seventh Generation wipes. Yardenit Cosmetics Review

Yardenit is the celebrated baptismal site on the sacred Jordan River in Israel. They embrace Pilgrims from the four corners of the earth who come to the Holy Land and to Yardenit for a specific purpose: to walk in the footsteps if Jesus and to be part of the baptismal ritual of following their Savior through the waters of baptism.

You do not have to travel to the Holy Land to experience Yardenit specialty products. You can visit their online store and shop for Holy Land souvenirs, Christian and Jewish gifts, inspirational jewelry, food items eaten during biblical times, music, books, clothing, cosmetics, and toys.

Our Review:

I found this was a very interesting website and web store. I had never actually sought out a store in the Holy Land so I was not aware that one existed. This is a rare gem! The web store offers so many products for both Jewish and Christian guests. They offer a vast array of products… from cosmetics to clothing!

We were privileged to review two of their cosmetic products. We were sent AYA Natural Nail Oil and Olea Essence Lip Balm. Both products are all natural which was a plus! I was concerned about getting a package from overseas … as I was not sure if it would ship well…especially with cosmetics enclosed. But I assure you Yardenit packaged their products beautifully and safely. They were packaged very tight and wrapped so that nothing would break or spoil. I was very impressed.

AYA Natural Nail Oil:

This product is made of 100% AYA natural Oil blend that may have antifungal properties. Nourishes, Moisturizes, and promotes healthy nail growth.

Ingredients: Extra Virgin olive oil, Sweet Almond oil, Tea Tree oil, Jojoba oil, Wheat Germ oil, Geranium, Rosemary, Lavender, and Tocopherol (Vitamin E).

*** We liked this product… the overall packaging was very nice. The oils come in a little dropper like bottle. You then apply right to the nail and rub into the cuticles daily. I used this item for a week and found that it made a difference to the overall health of my nails and cuticles. My cuticles are generally very dry … but this product improved them ten fold. I find that they are no longer peeling after use of this product. My oldest daughter also used this product. Sometimes her nails are prone to peeling …after using this product I can honestly say that her nail structure has improved. It seems that her nails are healthier and stronger and no longer peeling.

Just as a side note… the description states that it “may” have antifungal properties. I believe this is because one o the ingredients in the product is Tea Tree Oil, which is a known antifungal agent.

Olea Essence Lip Balm:

This product is made of all natural ingredients with no preservatives. It is Olive oil based and enriched with jojoba oil, wheat oil and avocado oil. It restores damaged and chapped lips.

Ingredients: Olive oil, Seabuckthorn oil, Bees Wax, Jojoba oil, Sesame oil, Caster oil, Wheat Germ oil, Avocado oil, Tea Tree oil, and Lavender oil.

*** This product was also a hit in my family. We are currently in the winter season and chapped lips are the norm around our house. This product came nicely packaged in a little pot …so it is easily applied with the finger. So I could easily use this on more than one person if needed (unlike a stick lip balm … where it would be limited to one person). The person who benefitted most from this product was my son. He is prone to chapped lips and often licks the top of his lips so the area right above the lip is red and chapped. We have a hard time finding anything except Vaseline that will do the trick because he says that the products we have tried “burn” his skin. Well, we have a new favorite in this product! This has done wonders for his skin and it is gentle and does not burn! It has cleared up his redness and chapped lips…I am so pleased! I did in turn use this on myself and found that my lips feel smooth and not as dried out as they usually feel this time of year! Very nice product!

Overall, we were very impressed with the Yardenit products we received. The only thing I do have to mention is that since the products do have Tea Tree oil in that particular oil seems to take over as the scent of the product. It is not a bad scent… some call it medicinal or a clean scent. It does not detract from the product… but it does take over the other oil scents that are ingredients in the product. I must say that since the Nail oil had the ingredient of Almond oil I expected an overall “almond” scent since that oil seems to be a powerful scent… but the Tea tree Oil is stronger. In the Lip Balm the Tea tree oil was not as strong… but it was still the main scent. I attribute the scent not being as strong in the Lip balm because it is a solid rather than a liquid like the oil. But generally the scent is not bothersome; in my experience it is rather pleasant.

On a side note: I was interested in another product and was worried about shipping to the USA from Israel (I thought it might be expensive) when I enquired with the company I found that their sipping rates are based on weight. The product I was looking at was their hand lotion, which is 150 ml or 5.1 fl oz.; the shipping on this product would be about $ 5.00. I found that this shipping cost was comparable to an average online store. So I was pleased.
