We LOVED the Hair & Body Babywash! This      was such a great product! My children are        older 6, 8, and 10…but it worked wonderfully    on them and myself I might add! This really      is a product that you can use for the whole        family. It is very gentle. My daughter has          eczema so I am always cautious of what I        use on her skin and this product is so gentle      it did not cause flare ups ! The pump spout is    a great addition to the product as it makes        dispensing easy…I always like a pump spout    better than a flip top!

  • Say goodbye to Cradle Cap and Eczema.
  • Leaves Hair & Skin Clean & Ultra Soft
  • Gentle pH for Skin & Hair of 6.0-7.0

The Natural Shampoo is a great start to any      hair regimin for children and adults! The            shampoo has a great lather and performs          well on hair. My children have very thick hair    and it is often hard to get natural product to      wash out of their hair. This product washed      out nicely and left the hair smelly and feeling    wonderful! AS an added bonus for us it also      provided great conditioning and detangling        too!

Professional Performance
  • Gentle pH of 6.0-7.0 to Help Retain Hair Color

  • Detangling & Conditioning

The deep conditioner boasts soft, strong,          healthy hair….and it does live up to its claim!    This conditioner is wonderful. Again … I have    had so much trouble in the past rinsing out        natural products from the hair…but this            conditioner goes on smooth and rinses out        nicely…leaving hair soft and manageable!        This is a great addition to your hair care            routine!

This is by far our favorite product from              Original Sprout! This product truly makes          combing effortless! We love using the                detangler on wet hair right after the                  bath…but found it works EXCELLENT on dry      hair too! So often my daughters go to bed        with wet hair only to wake up looking tangled    and disheveled in the morning. Just a spritz      of this detangler and a quick comb/brush          through makes their hair look sleek again and    well groomed!

20140928_031306
Another plus to the miracle              detangler is that it has this nifty      pump spray! This spray is so            nice … simple and easy to              use…much nicer than a cream        detangler that has to be applied      with the hands. The pump makes    dispensing effortless!

Scripture Talk – Making Bible Memory Fun through Hand Motions – And Giveaway

DVD-Case---Gradient-BackdropSM

We have been lax in our scripture memory of late. We usually just sit around the table or living room and quote it in a sing song voice. Sometimes we have been known to clap or march as well, especially when the children were younger. In our busy household, I am always interested in new ways to teach our children scripture. When the opportunity to review “Scripture Talk – Making Bible Memory Fun through Hand Motions” DVD came across my email. I said yes.

Scripture Talk – Making Bible Memory Fun through Hand Motions

The DVD uses fun, active hand motions, creative teaching, and visual aids to help children memorize 79 verses of Scripture (from 10 passages) and also know how to apply the Scripture to their lives. We have seen dozens of children of all ages (2 years to 18 years) use this method, and get excited about memorizing large amounts of Scripture in a short amount of time!

Scripture Talk Review

Our children really like watching Scripture Talk. After a few days they were coming to me quoting scripture, or portions of scripture while doing the hand motions. Here is what each of our younger children had to say:

14 year old daughter, “I really like it. It was very encouraging. It helped me with memorizing. I like all the teachers.”

12 year old son, “It was encouraging.”

11 year old son, “I liked it. It was funny. I memorized a verse. My favorite teacher is Mr. Richard.”

8 year old daughter, “I love it. I memorized a verse. The bloopers were really funny. The teachers were awesome. My favorite teacher is Miss Kate.”

6 year old son, “I loved it. I really liked the bloopers.”

4 year old son, “I hate it.” He did grumble the most when it was time to watch it. But he also just said last night that he liked it. So he is being a flip-flop!

I liked that I could let them sit down and watch the DVD without having to worry about the content. It gave me some peace and quiet to get my work done, which is very helpful to this busy mama.

To learn more about the DVD, you can visit www.scripturetalkministries.com. On the “Media” page of their site, you can find a promo video to see sample footage of the DVD. Scripture Talk was also featured on the Duggar family’s blog – http://duggarsblog.blogspot.com/2014/06/scripture-talk-giveaway.html

#36 Saturday Top Five Laughs

Saturdays Top Laughs dentistmelsbbutton-11

It is hard to believe we are inching closer and closer to a year for participating in the Saturday Top Five Laughs posts. But here we are joining The Mommyhood Chronicles on week #36 (for us)! Most of them will be compliments of Jr., our four year old.

5. “That smells yummy”, Jr. exclaimed as his 11-year-old brother made him some hot chocolate. A boy after my own heart!

4. Jr. went potty one day this week and announced, “I made a cow patty!”

3. You all know I get up at 2am most mornings to do two paper routes. On one particular morning, the children kept coming in and out of our room (hubby must have been otherwise occupied or else that usually does not occur) and I was getting a little exasperated. So the next time Jr. came in I gave him a look. My older girls call it my “dragon” look and Jr. simply looked at me and said, “Mommy, you look creepy.”

2. It is fly season. Living on a farm we are overrun with flies. After the first year here, we finally succumbed to those ugly sticky fly paper that hang from the ceiling. We have never hung one in our bedroom before but had to this week due to the amount of flies camping out in there. Hubby hung it by the light fixture, which happens to be over our six year old and four year old’s bed. Our six year old tells us, “I have nightmares about that fly trap falling on me.” Guess that would be freaky, if it happened, but it is held by a tack so it is pretty secure. Hubby knocked his head on it today, which was a close call. Good thing his hair is cut in pretty much a buzz cut! I just thought it was kind of funny that he said he had nightmares about it. I have not heard him waking up, just so you know!

1. Today I hear this high pitched screaming, then gobble-gobbles. I listen for a while and realize one or two of the younger children were doing the screaming in order to get the turkeys to gobble! Wish I could have recorded it, but it did not last very long, nor did I think of it until now. Turkeys are rather interesting to observe and listen to.

#35 Saturday Top Five Laughs

Saturdays Top Laughs dentistmelsbbutton-11

We are joining Mel over at The Mommyhood Chronicles for week #35 (for us) in our Saturday Top Five Laughs of the week. I actually kept better track this week! Hoo-rah!

5. My 14 and 12 year old are sitting next to me and being rude and silly. Then when I made a face, my 14 year old gave an evil laugh and said she knew I was going to make that face hahahahaha!
I live with goofballs!

4. I was eating frozen blueberries while working on my laptop and my 12-year-old son asked, “Mommy, are you going to eat your blueberries?” I said, “Yes, why are you eyeballing my blueberries?” He said he was and wanted to eat them. Then my 14-year-old tried to steal them! My blueberries just are not safe anymore!

3. My 12-year-old said, “I want to learn to say poop in every language. Then my life goal will be complete.” Oh the aspirations! ;)

2. $2.40 for an ear of corn!? NOT, but that’s what I came up with when I did the math the first time after my hubby came home with two big burlap bags with 48 ears in each. I was in sticker shock, ready to write to the farm stand until….I did the math again and came out with 41 cents/ear. Whew.

1. One of the children asked where another child was and our 14-year-old said, “She’s in her stall.” Then started laughing and I said, “That just made the Saturday Top Five Laughs list!” ;) We had just been talking about the animals and the sheep being in their stall so that’s why she came out with that.

What funny things have you done this week?

NewAir WCD-110SS Water Dispenser

NewAir WCD-110SS Water Dispenser

We drink a lot of water. We are currently on well water. The water itself is fine, however, we have to add salt since the home has an on-demand water softener system. It is the salt in the water that makes our water no-so-great. That is why we were excited to be offered a NewAir WCD-110SS Water Dispenser. No more carting home 10 1-gallon water jugs since we can use!

The NewAir WCD-110SS Water Dispenser is a nice little appliance to have in our home. It has a stainless steel front and black sides and back. It has a slim size, which makes it a great choice for smaller homes or areas within the home. We put ours just off the kitchen in the master suite hallway since there is no room in our small kitchen.

NewAir WCD-110SS Water Dispenser Specs

~ 33.65 lbs.
~ 1-year manufacturer’s limited warranty.
~ Removable plastic drip tray.
~ Hot & Cold water dispenser
~ Two push button controls – the hot water has a safety regulated “hot water” push button, making it safe for children.
~ Light indicators.
~ Hot water 176°F – 203°F.
~ Cold water 41°F – 50°F.
~ Compatible with 2-gallon, 3-gallon or 5-gallon bottles of water.
~ Features a stainless steel water tank which delivers a plastic free taste when drinking both hot and cold water.
~ UL Certified.
~ Easy no installation; simply remove it from its packaging, add a water bottle and plug in!

NewAir WCD-110SS Water Dispenser Review

We really like having the water dispenser. It saves on boiling a kettle of water, making it very convenient to get a cup of tea or hot chocolate. It is holding up well under our family of ten’s use of it. Granted the younger children cannot get hot water unless they have two of them to maneuver the child-safety feature on the buttons! It is easier for the children to get a drink and a lot less mess too, unless of course they overfill or spill, which they have yet to do, thankfully.

The only thing I really do not like about the unit is the fact that the buttons to dispense hot and cold water, as well as the child-safety button are all plastic. I fear they will eventually snap or break under heavy, extended use. I hope I am wrong but only time will tell. We have had it for nearly a month now, but we did limit the children’s use until this past week when I knew I would be doing the review.

Overall, the NewAir WCD-110SS Water Dispenser has been a welcome addition to our home and I am looking forward getting much use out of it.

#34 Saturday Top Five Laughs

Saturdays Top Laughs dentistmelsbbutton-11

Here it is Saturday once again….so we will be joining Mel over at The Mommyhood Chronicles for week #34 (for us) in our Saturday Top Five Laughs of the week, if I can scrounge up enough fun things to post!

5. Jr. says, “Ah no” when responding to us. It’s a line a minion says in the movie Despicable Me.

4. One of our goats (the one with horns) and our dog knocked each other out while head butting or doing whatever they were doing. One of the children found both of them laying on the ground next to one another. Crazy animals.

3. Hubby and our older two girls went to the library the other evening. I told Jr. that daddy would be back soon and his response was, “Daddy never come back!” He has been saying such weird/funny things lately. Such a goof ball!

2. A little girl who saw cherub angels on TV and said, “Ewwww….naked babies! I see their nooples (nipples!)” Cute or what?

1. Someone dropped by this week and said, “One of your llamas is on the road.” Ahhhh….we do not have any llamas. They did not know the difference between goats and llamas. It made us chuckle!

#33 Saturday Top Five Laughs

Saturdays Top Laughs dentistmelsbbutton-11

I have been under the weather all week and really did not keep track of our funnies very well. And here it is Saturday once again….so we will be joining Mel over at The Mommyhood Chronicles for week #33 (for us) in our Saturday Top Five Laughs of the week, if I can scrounge up enough fun things to post!

5. I was playing with Jr. yesterday on our bed. He left and came back and I was eating frozen blueberries but I wasn’t playing with him any more so he goes, “Mommy play with me!” It was cute.

4. Jr. said to hubby, “Blaze has big eyes!” In case you forgot, Blaze is our horse.

FFR Dr. Jr._2 082014

3. Jr. was playing with my blood pressure cup and then started calling himself, Dr._____(and his name). Too cute.

FFR Dr. Jr. 082014

2. Our dog is confused. He’s attracted to our female sheep. Need I say more? Sigh.

1. Our oldest went away for the weekend to help her aunt with a trade show and Jr. goes, “Why did ‘Bobbie’ have to go? Me like her. Me want _____ to go.” He wanted his big brother to go away instead!

Week #31 Saturday Top Five Laughs

Saturdays Top Laughs dentistmelsbbutton-11

I have been trying to keep track of all our funnies and laughs and doing ok with it but may come up short this week for my Saturday Top Five Laughs post this week. Without further adieu… we join Mel over at The Mommyhood Chronicles for week #31 (for us) in our Saturday Top Five Laughs of the week.

5. O, our 14 year old has been cracking us up lately. It all started a couple of weeks ago when we were weeding in the garden and she started making up words, which she has continued to do. So I had her sit down so I could write a couple of them down to share here.

Her words: If you have a sudden aching in your lower legs, in your calf muscle, if you have a sudden increase in heart rate, then you probably have read-i-obia – the fear of running.

4. If you have a sudden increase in your temper coming out and you don’t fell like doing your work outside, then you have weed-i-obia – the fear of weeds and work.

3. We had a customer stop by for eggs but we were all sold out so she asked what else we had for sale and I told her chicken and maybe a few vegetables. She chose tomatoes. She didn’t want grape tomatoes, which we have a ton of, but the larger sized tomatoes. Our oldest son went out to pick them and the look on her face when she saw they were odd shaped and one was red with speckled zebra lines, which is an heirloom tomato but for the life of me I cannot remember what kind. Her response was, “I guess I’ll take them since I had you pick them.” People are just too funny.

2. I was talking with some colleagues on Thursday and I was sharing something and said, “My husband had to go pick up chicks.” They all burst out laughing because of the play on words. He actually went to pick up broiler chickens but I just said chicks!

Young Eagles_Cessna 182

1. Our family went to a local small airport for a Young Eagles rally and our children got to take a flight for free. And I just forgot what funny occurred! Oh, anyways, my husband ran into a guy he use to work with. This guy owns his own plane and invited Robert to go flying with him. I think they had a 40-50 minute flight. They even went over our farm. Robert said they buzzed down over our farm and made the chickens scatter. So when we arrived home I open the truck door and all our young pullets come running out from out under the front yard bushes. I said to my husband, “Didn’t buzz down too close, eh? Then why were the chickens still in hiding!” Or something to that affect, giving him a hard time, of course!

How was your week? What things happened to bring laughter into your life and home?
