Our Review

In some ways I feel sad about all the gender neutral products that are coming out. I miss seeing the frilly girly products and the products that scream “For Boys!” On the other hand, a product like Baby GoGo seems like the perfect gift for boys and girls since both need to be taught to be nurturing and loving to their siblings and other little friends.

We were sent the Baby GoGo and the Baby GoGo Diaper Bag Set to review. My younger daughter adores this doll! Sometimes I think she likes it better than her Madeline doll but I guess it depends upon the day. Now that our 2-year-old son has a little brother he can be seen mimicking the happenings of our household in his play with Baby Go Go and his sister’s Madeline doll. But I have to admit that my daughter has claimed Baby GoGo for her own, but can be persuaded to let her little brother play with it too. I think that both of them enjoy holding the real deal though. Baby GoGo is much lighter than our infant son so it doesn’t scare the rest of the family if little hands shift quickly while holding Baby GoGo!

Baby GoGo is well made and has already held up through at least one trip through the laundry cycle due to an accident. Baby GoGo’s clothing is easy for preschoolers to put on, although the hat did give our daughter a little trouble since it seems to pop off. Baby GoGo’s blanket is very much like our infant son’s new baby blanket making it even more authentic for our younger children.

The diaper bag is also well made. While the diaper bag and accessories are great and are similar to mom’s and dad’s, they tend to get misplaced or lost easily. Ever notice that some children would rather just undress the dolls and leave the clothes lying around the house? My little ones are still learning how to pick up and put things away in their proper place, so it’s mom (me!) that needs to be patient in the process!

Baby GoGo products are cute, affordable (for a quality made itemsl) and appealing to both boys and girls.

Available from local toy specialty stores and online at www.babygogodoll.com.

Bendaroos Review

I received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While I consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, my review is my honest opinion and thoughts of this product.

We featured Bendaroos earlier today in our Back to School Product Guide under Part 3

Bendaroos- 500 Pack ($19.99) These products are so cool for raining days when your kids are super bored or for school for art day! 500 Bendaroos® Building Sticks In Rainbow & Neon Colors. Includes a simple To Use Fun Guide With Step By Step Instructions How To Make Your Favorite Characters! It includes 10 Traceable Templates. No Glue, No Stains, No Mess. How cool is that for kids and MOM! :) We will be reviewing one soon.

bendaroos

With all that is going on this week with this Back to School Product Guide, it was really helpful to receive the package today containing the Bendaroos. This children’s craft kept our six younger children busy for a couple of hours this afternoon while my oldest and I were working. They kept bringing us their creations and telling us what they were and how they made them.

At first the children made the different objects on the cards included in the Bendaroos kit, but the last going off they ventured out to create their own individual flowers, spiders, donuts, people etc. They had a lot of fun!

Initially, one of the children was frustrated because his shark was not staying together. There seems to be a little bit of an art to get the bending sticks to stay together because some bending sticks together better than others. That may have been caused by how each child handled his or her project, how firmly they pressed the sticks together or perhaps the template design; some of them required bending them at different angles etc. I found when I tried fixing his project, it did go back together easily enough, but I am not sure it stayed firmly in place for the duration of the day.

The youngest children, especially, required more assistance than the older ones. Perhaps dexterity and coordination all play a part in how easy it is for each child to manuever the bending sticks too. I know one thing, those two things (dexterity and coordination) got lots of use today!

The children enjoyed showing all their projects to Daddy when he got home. I think Bendaroos was worth the time and entertainment that our children gained from this great children’s activity. Truly there is no mess other than maybe little pieces of bending sticks that are left over, but I found the children used up everything very well.

Here are some of the children’s creations:

Cadoozles – Mechanical Pencils:  These pencils are fun, colorful and are nice to use. My husband and I have been using them to balance our checkbook. :)

Daisies Ball Point Pens : These fun pens have very cute designs and I like the way they write. My teenage daughter really likes them they would make a great gift for any fun loving woman.

RegalAR-BK-Product-490x85

Regal Roller – 2 sizes: These pens are REALLY nice for when you need a nice fine tip pen. I like these and so does my teenage daughter.

* 0.5mmMicro Point Needle
* 0.7mmFine Point Arrow

I really like all of the pens and pencils I got to review! My family and I have been having fun with them. I love the fun colors and designs on all of them and the Cadoozles mechanical pencils. The only thing is the green and yellow-orange ink are harder to see than the other colors, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing especially if you journal or keep a diary! ;-) They are available at stores nation wide.
