Baby Magic Bath Caddy Baby Review

Move over Baby Magic shampoos!  Baby Magic now has baby dolls!  This  adorable little 8 inch doll smells REALLY good.  She has that new baby powder smell.  Mmmmm…  takes me back.  The Baby Magic dolls are perfect for little hands.

baby Magic 1

She comes in a bath caddy basket with a duck, shirt, headband, small towel, and I can’t forget 3 pretend Baby Magic bottles.  Our Baby Magic is currently drying off in our bathroom.  My daughter really enjoyed giving her baby a bath, the baby doll was however a bit slippery once she was wet (but, really most babies are, right?  lol….).  The duck, bottles and towel were great for pretend play and she enjoys washing her baby each tub time.

baby magic 2Here is our Baby Magic Baby before her first bath.

This is a great gift idea!

Our Review:

We LOVE this family game! This is certainly a new favorite for family game night at our house! Speedeebee gives the brain a workout! We loved that this was not only a fun game but also a great learning tool! This game is reminiscent of speed tests at school… it gets the children (and adults) into the practice of thinking quickly. We played this game as a family…and had a blast. Even my 4 year old had a great time identifying letters on the dice. Even though she could not spell we adapted her role to finding letters. The game is age appropriate from 8 and up…but we did not want to exclude our little one from family game night. My other two children who are 7 and 9 played the game with ease (my 7 year old is reading at a higher level so this game was appropriate even for him).

As a mom and “collector” of family games I love that this game is in a small convenient tin. No large box to store and it travels nicely. This game fits easily on our game shelf and can easily be put into a purse or bag for travel use! I also love the fact that the container is made of tin… so often the sides of our game boxes break and I need to tape them up…no worries here with strong tin construction!

Overall, what a fun family game! This was truly enjoyable to play! This is definitely an addition to our family game night and impromptu game nights!

Sleepy Boy – Wordless Wednesday

Sleepy Boy 032113

This week’s Wordless Wednesday photo is of Jr. when fell asleep on his brother’s shoulder as they were watching Pink Panther on my iPhone. The children set him down or he laid down naturally on my big purse on the floor. Too precious! It’s a lot calmer around the house when this little guy is asleep. When he’s awake he’s into everything and anything!

PouchPop Review

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Pouch food for babies and toddlers is the new preferred feeding method for many families, mine included.  Feeding by pouch is not only convenient, but it promotes self-feeding, which is a great lesson for babies!  One of the downfalls of most pouches, though, is the feeding part is made of hard plastic with many ridges.  This can be very cumbersome for babies.  Not anymore with the PouchPop.

The PouchPop topper is the convenient, soothing, and safe solution for pouch feeding.  Made out of soothing hospital grade silicone, it easily twists onto any baby food pouch.  I tried it out on some GO GO applesauce, and it twisted on easily and was just as easy to take off.  I had my toddler try the pouch without the PouchPop and then with the PouchPop.  Once I twisted the Pouchpop on, he did not want me to remove it.  He said it was easier to drink from and that the applesauce came out faster.  He also said it felt “cool” in his mouth.  I liked how smooth the PouchPop was.  It covers all of the ridges and “ouch points” on pouches, so I never have to worry about him hurting the inside of his mouth.  This is definitely a safer option for babies.  Best of all, it is dishwasher safe!

PouchPop3

I love that PouchPop toppers are sold in a package of four and are reusable.  I can keep a couple at home and a couple in my diaper bag for whenever I need them.  They are also pediatrician recommended.  These would be a great gift and are available at Amazon.com.  For a 25% discount enter Topper13 (case sensitive) during checkout.

Moody Sisters Organic Skincare Review and $25 Gift Card Giveaway!

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Looking for a line of skincare products that are not only organic, but are safe for the whole family? Look no further. Moody Sisters Organic Skincare is a company committed to bringing skincare back to the basics. Not only are all of the ingredients natural and organic, all of their products are homemade. Since they are homemade they are made fresh weekly. All of their products are chemical free, preservative free, paraben free, and organic. I had the opportunity to try two of their many skincare products.

MoodySisters1

The first was their Travel Intense Cream. It is suggested to be used for dry hands, feet, elbows, or at night for intense hydration. My elbows are always dry, especially in the winter. I placed just a dab of the cream on each elbow twice a day, and within three days my elbows were smooth as ever! I have tried many different moisturizers for my elbows and none of them have worked that fast. I also tried the Travel Intense Cream on my feet since they get dry this time of year, too. The first night I rubbed some on the bottom of each foot and put on some socks to lock in the cream. When I woke up I noticed a big difference in the dryness. I did the same thing for three nights in a row and could not believe how soft my feet were. Now I use it everyday on my feet and elbows after I shower to maintain. I cannot believe how well it worked. I like that a little bit of the cream goes a long way. The Travel Intense Cream is similar to a paste, but goes on smooth. It is not oily and it has an absolute wonderful smell to it. It is made with sweet almond oil, apricot kernal oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, water, green tea, aloe, oats, juniper berry, vitamin E, herbal extracts and essential oils. I would recommend it for anyone that has dry skin; you will not be disappointed!

MoodySisters2

Next I tried their Baby Wipe Solution. The solution can be used for reusable wipes or as a feminine hygiene cleanser. I used it with their Natural Bamboo Baby Wipes. Their reusable wipes are ultra soft and the perfect size for babies. They even stay soft after repeated washes. I wish they would make them in adult towel sizes, they are that amazingly soft. The solution came out almost like water and it was easy to spread over the wipe. It smelled absolutely wonderful and I feel it cleaned just as well as disposable wipes, if not better. I really like that the solution is free of chemicals. Some babies have such sensitive skin, that this solution is perfect for all babies. The Baby Wipe Solution is made with water, aloe juice, castile soap, sunflower oil, oat extract, vitamin E, lavender, rose, and tea tree oil.

Overall I was very impressed with the products from Moody Sisters Organic Skincare. They have an entire line of products for all skin types and ages including toners & scrubs, lip & eye products, and body care products. I would highly recommend these products to anyone looking for a quality skincare product that works. What a bonus that they are organic and handmade, too! Check out their website www.moodysistersskincare.com for some great homemade organic recipes you can make at home.

KidsEmbrace

Kids safety is very important to parents. Especially when it comes to transporting children in a vehicle. Most states require a child to be in a car seat. Here in Illinois children are required to be in child restraint system until 8 years old or they fit into a car’s seat belt safely. It’s our job as parents to choose child restraint equipment that is safe to use and properly installed. Sometimes though toddlers can be tough when it comes to getting them into their car seats. My little sister was. Most of our children have done ok. They seem to just get sick of sitting period on long trips! Pretty normal for a child.

KidsEmbrace Logo

For those tougher toddlers, I imagine KidsEmbrace toddler car seats would appeal to these ever-growing, ever-changing children and make them want to sit in their car seat…at least for a time.

Boys familiar with Batman would love the Batman car seat. Girls would love the Dora Explorer seat. KidsEmbrace offers affordable, yet fun car seats for kids.

Have you heard of KidsEmbrace? I hadn’t until now.

Eggy Alphabet App

Eggy Alpha 1

The Eggy Alphabet App is available for your iPad and/or iPhone in the iTunes Store.

When you start up this app, it asks for your child’s name and each time you log in it will welcome your child.

The home page has 2 available activities “Letter” and “Letter Game”.

When you select “Letters” a friendly voice will tell you to select a letter.

eggy Alpha 2

After selecting a letter, they will direct you to select an activity.  Your child can select an upper case or lower case letter for their activities.  The available activities are Dot-to-Dot, Draw the Letter, Copy the Letter, or Letter or Not?

Dot-to-Dot is just that connecting the numbers to draw the letter. It will make your child repeat the letter Dot-to-Dot several times with numbers, then they will take away the numbers are show just dots, then take away the darkened letter to make your child draw the letter by themselves.  I really like the repetition of the letter.

eggy Alpha 4

Draw the letter is just that. They give you a blank page and your child will draw the letter.

Copy the letter – they give you the letter and arrows to give the direction your child should use to write the letter.

Letter or Not? and the Letter Game (From the home page) –  It will give you different pictures and ask if the picture starts with  that letter.  For example see below.

eggy Alpha 3

Does the word insect start with the letter i?  In this case yes, it does. The next picture may be a vase or flowers.

When your child finishes a level they receive a critter.  We received “Mr. Cheese the Mouse” for playing for 10 minutes straight and “Blue the Whale” for completing our first Dot-to-Dot activity.

This is a great learning app for your beginning readers, writers and learning the alphabet for your little ones.

Best of all Moms & Dads, you can check their progress!

Look for my next app review – Eggy Sight Words!

STRIDER Bike Review

strider_company_full_registered_light_bg

Our boys love their bikes. And the Strider Bike is a perfect product for introducing toddlers and young children to the biking world.

Strider Bike box being openededit

Strider Bike boy gets dad's helpedit

The Strider Bike is very easy to put together. My husband did so quickly and easily in a few minutes. Nookie had a ton of fun helping him as well.

Strider Bike makes boy happyedit

The overall quality of the Strider Bike is impressive. It’s sturdy and perfectly safe for even the youngest toddlers. The seat is soft and has a nice little cushion for those little tushies.

Strider Bike boy riding 2edit

My youngest two boys have been riding the Strider Bike indoors since it’s still too cold to use it outside, and they love it. It’s the perfect size for them and even my older kids thought it was cute. Although we did have to explain to them why it didn’t have any pedals.

Strider Bike makes boy very happyedit

We wondered if the lack of pedals would make Nookie go through some adjustment, but he was easily able to ride the Strider Bike! And our youngest son has also been using the Strider Bike and because of that, he’ll be so much more ready to ride a bike with pedals this summer.

We highly recommend Strider products. Not only do our boy’s love their brand new Strider Bike, but they get two thumbs up from us as well!

You can find all Strider Bike products as well all the other styles of the Strider Bike at:

www.striderbikes.com

Strider also has the Strider Life forum, which is a community to share stories and photos of your children enjoying their Strider Bikes.

Sassy Non-sters

When I hear the brand name Sassy, I immediately think of bright vibrant colors and baby friendly, and that is exactly what their new line of toys called Non-sters are.  They are named after the way babies babble.  Each Non-ster personality possesses a baby trait.  Some of their names include Ci-Ci, La-Lee, and Buppy-Uppy.  Each toy has a specific age range, a list of what they promote, and ways to help your child interact with the toy.  They are of very high quality and sold exclusively at Target.

Nonsters1

I had the opportunity to review four different Sassy Non-sters.  First was Ci-Ci lullaby and lights.  This is a soothing toy for children.  Ci-Ci is absolutely adorable with her green pig-tails, orange ribbons, pink with green polka-dot tutu, and ballerina shoes.  The colors are so bright and cheery, and she has many different textures.  Gently squeeze Ci-Ci’s hand and the heart in the center of her tummy lights up and soothing lulllaby music plays while the lights change color.  You can also change the lullaby music to a heartbeat.  It comes with batteries, which is definitely a plus!  Ci-Ci promotes interaction, self-soothing, and discovery.  It is for 0+ months, and I can see babies playing with it through a year old.

Nonsters2

La-Lee discovery spots was the next Non-ster I received.  La-Lee was very silly looking with green spikey ribbon hair, different colored ears, and different colored and textured spots.  What a surprise I had when I touched any of the four different spots down La-Lee’s tummy and silly sound effects emerged!  This would definitely occupy babies for hours!  This Non-ster also comes with batteries and promotes interaction, cause-and-effect, and imagination.  La-Lee is recommended for 0+ month children, but even my three year old had a ball with it.

Besides Non-sters that light up and play music, they also have books and carrier attachments.  The books are absolutely adorable and have so many features.  Ci-Ci’s book has a velcro strap at the top so you can attach it easily to a carrier or stroller.  Each page has very bright colors and patterns that are very appealing to babies’ eyes.  Pages include crinkle textures, a mirror, and a place to insert a photo.  You can even personalize the back with the child’s name.  You can also buy Ci-Ci as a chime & chew carrier attachment.  A very durable velcro strap makes it easy to attach to a carrier.  It has a nice sounding chime inside, and a dangling pink heart that is great for chewing on when teething.  Again the colors are very bright and vibrant, and the quality is very high.

Nonsters3

Overall I was very impressed with all four Sassy Non-ster baby toys.  I plan on buying them as gifts for many of my friends who are expecting.  Their colors, textures, and features make them great baby toys.  You can see all of the different Non-sters at http://www.sassybaby.com/nonsters.
