Review ~ AcquaEssentials

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

I received samples of the following products to try:

The first product I tried was Caviahue Anti Wrinkle Cream; this was a nice soft cream. It went on smooth and felt nice on the skin. I cannot attest to its effectiveness as I only tried a few samples and was not on the product long enough to see any results. This cream retails at $48.35

The second product I tried was Caviahue Nourishing moisturizing cream. This cream was also nice on the skin, not too heavy and went on very smooth! The cream took away any dryness and did not cause an oily residue that some creams leave. This cream retails at $48.35

The third product I sampled was Mondariz Hydro Woman Cream. This is a very soft non-greasy cream that felt very nice on my skin. The hydration effect felt wonderful on my face and neck and lasted almost all day! This product retails for $ 55.15. They also have a companion Mondariz Hydro Man Cream for males who use face cream.

Overall I have to say that the products were nice. They were a bit perfumed for my taste…I tend to buy fragrance free or lightly scented face creams. These did have a heavier flower scent, not unpleasant, just strong. The only other deterrent factor was the price of the products, they are not cheap, but are comparable in price to many name brand creams on the market.

AcquaEssentials.com is having a shipping special if your order is over 60.00 it ships free. There is a myriad of products for anyone to browse on the website and you can easily place an order for 60.00. Review ~ Spiffies Wipes

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Spiffies Tooth Wipes Natural Grape Flavor

I am pleased to review Spiffies Wipes. This innovative product has been a hit in our household! This product is an alternative to teeth brushing in young children. The wipe is a convenient square that is then wrapped around the finger. This, the finger with the wipe is used to brush the teeth. I have used these wipes on both my 2 year old and my 4 year old. The 2 year old prefers to use a regular toothbrush but will tolerate using the wipes. I think she likes the control of being able to brush her teeth on her own with the toothbrush, where I brush her teeth wit h the wipes. However, my 4 year old LOVES the wipes. He allows me to brush/wipe his teeth without any fuss.

The wipes come in various flavors. We were given grape and apple to try. Both flavors were well received by my children http://www.spiffies.com/default.aspen without and “ick” factor. The only drawback to the product is once the wipe comes off your finger it leaves a sticky residue on your finger/hand. But it comes off easily after a quick hand washing with soap!

This product contains Xylitol, which is a natural food substance, which gently fights cavity-causing bacteria. I believe this is a great product for children who are reluctant to brush, as well as a supplement for children who like to brush…you cannot go wrong with extra dental hygiene! This product can be found at most Drug Stores or at http://www.spiffies.com/default.asp

Review ~ Eardoc

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

This is an interesting product. We have used this a few times and in each instance my children have said that their ear pain has diminished using the product. I have not had any ear pain myself so I can only rely on the honesty of my children.

The product boasts the ability to relive ear pain immediately (which we did experience). It also states that it can be an alternative to ear tube surgery. This is a wonderful asset to the product because we went through this surgical process with my youngest and I wish there was a product like this out there when we were going through the process of ear infections.

How does the Eardoc work? “Ear doc treats an ear infection by naturally opening the clogged Eustachian tubes, therefore allowing drainage of accumulated fluids outside of the middle ear and relieving the associated ear pain.” ~ Eardoc website http://www.eardoc.info/

Basically, the Eardoc works by vibration…a vibration goes through the Eardoc and when placed behind the ear the vibration helps open the ear tubes. The vibration can be large or small, as the Eardoc has a mechanism on the side to adjust the vibration. The vibration is slight and does not hurt, even at the highest setting.

All in all, this is a unique product that actually works! I will continue using it and provide my children with a natural way of relieving ear pain!

Quick Shower Gym Class Wipes ~ Review

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Disposable washcloths, Baby Wipes, Fundraising, Nonprofit, Wipes, Towlettes, Stink, QuickShower

I received these wipes to review and at first glance had no idea what they were for…upon reading the wipes I read that they “stop the stink”! These were designed for use by children and teens after gym class or sports practice, since they rarely shower after either activity. This is an interesting and well thought out concept. The wipes are a large (10×12) moistened, single use, thick disposable towel (similar to a wet nap but much larger). Overall the concept is wonderful although I did find one deterrent to the product, the scent. I wish these came in different scents because the fragrance is quite manly. I can definitely see a young man or boy using these but not a female. The scent is not feminine at all and this was a deterrent to my use. If you have a son or are a young man wanting to “stop the stink” I highly recommend Quick Shower wipes. They are relatively inexpensive and you can find out more information here http://qwikshower.com at their website!

Carmex Healing Lotion Review

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

product image

I was very excited about trying this product because I LOVE Carmex lip salve. However, I was NOT expecting the hand cream to smell like the lip salve. The product boasts a “pleasant” scent. The scent is only pleasant if you like the “Carmex” smell. Needless to say I only tried this once and did find it lived up to its non-greasy raves. I ended up giving the product to my husband to use for a few weeks because he did not mind the smell, in fact he rather liked the scent. He noted that the cream was one of the better feeling creams he has used (he is a hand cream addict) and will continue to use this brand in the future!

Dot Girl Review

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

As moms and as parents we often find it hard to talk to our children about tough subjects or personal topics, right? Yet it is part of our job as parents. Growing up I think I leaned more on my friends for information than I did on my parents, just because I was always with my friends. That all changed upon becoming a parent because I began to seek out my mom on different things. So topics like puberty and sex, although not easy to discuss have taken on a more comfortable to talk about because we have tried to answer questions our children have had as they come up and have allowed to be a normal progression in our conversations.

Young girls and boys should be prepared for what puberty will bring to their lives. I do not know of many products geared towards being tools to prepare boys for puberty, I think I know of more for girls. Dot Girl’s First Period Kit is one of them. This kit was created by two moms for their daughters, so that they would be prepared with everything a girl needs for her first period. Not only prepared, but confident for this next step in life’s journey.

Dot Girl creators say,

At Dot Girl we believe that informed girls grow to be empowered women. Our goal is to lessen anxiety for girls about their first period and instead turn it into a positive experience.

This stylish carrying case enables young girls to discreetly store information and supplies at home, on the road, in their backpacks or anywhere so they always feel prepared.

dot girl-kit-contents-lores

The First Period Kit includes: Period Answer Book, 5 feminine pads, 5 disposable bags, 1 reusable heating pad and 2 hand wipes.

My girls and I really liked this product and thought this kit was very useful. The answer book was well written, discreet (meaning it doesn’t go into other facts of life) and easy to understand for girls starting their periods younger than the norm. It even contained one fact that I did not know or remember. Basically it answers the most common questions about a girl’s first period. We may talk about these things in our home, but this little booklet will be a tool our girls can go back and re-read if they are not sure about something.

The actual kit is a pink circular bag that is made out of material that a make up bag is made of, so it is well-made and should last a girl through her teen years. It has a zipper closure and holds everything needed. It is small enough to fit into a girl’s purse or backpack. My girls thought it was a neat idea.

Thank you, Dot Girl, for the opportunity to review your First Period Kit. We give this a definite thumbs up!

Eco Lips Review

I paid $1 to receive a full size lip balm and here is my review.

ecollips.jpg

I got the Eco Lips SPF 15 Berry Lip Balm and liked it. It smelled really nice. It wasn’t as waxy as other lip balms, so that was nice. And plus this lip balm has sunscreen powers in it to protect your lips. And it did protect my lips.

I really liked that it is all organic, and has no dyes or synthetic ingredients. It was a nice lip balm. But I still like my all time favorite lip balm. And in my mind nothing can beat that lip balm. (I won’t say which lip balm) I have tried a lot of organic lip balms. And I think this one is probably my 3rd favorite out of all of them.

I encourage you to check out Eco Lips. And all of their other great products!

Udder Nature Product Review

I received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While I consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, my review is my honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Thanks to Udder Nature for sponsoring this review.

Happy Camper Soap:

happycampersoap.jpg

This soap is great for taking on summer vacation to keep bugs away! It is made of saponified olive andcoconut oils, goat milk, shea butter, castor oil, and essential oils. It feels very smooth on your skin and has a soft repellent smell like that of most bug sprays. I took it on vacation and my family and I all loved it. The bugs didn’t like the smell of it and stayed off for the most part. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a vacation to the woods!

Lemon Grass Soap:

lemongrasssoap.jpg

If you love the smell of lemon, you will love this soap! It is made of saponified olive and coconut oils, goat milk, castor oil, and lemongrass essential oil. I used it to wash my hands and it gave them a fresh lemon scent. It’s great for using in the kitchen.

Citrus Fruits Soap:

This soap is my favorite of the three samples I tried. It is made of saponified olive and coconut oils, goat milk, orange, grapefruit, and essential oils. I loved the delicious smell of citrus fruits!

Product Review: Soft Soap

I received the following product in exchange for writing a review, while I consider it a privilege to receive free product to review this is my honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Softsoap brand recently introduced three new body washes: Nutri Serums Mineral Extracts, Body Butter Mega Moisture Vanilla and Black Orchid & Velvet Hibiscus (Not available until August). Each retail for approximately $3.50-$4.50.

I had the privilege of receiving the Nutri Serums Mineral Extracts and Body Butter Mega Moisture Vanilla. Both smell heavenly. After one of my daughters used the Nutri Serums Mineral Extracts, I couldn’t help but notice and comment on how nice she smelled!

My older daughter really liked the fragrance of both body washes and thought it made her skin feel really soft. Her only disappointment was that these two products were not all natural, organic products. She almost seems more conscious of the ingredients of personal care products and food than my husband and I. I think that is a good thing though.

I really like the smell of the new Soft soap body washes, I thought that the Body Butter Mega Moisture was pretty thick to rub into the skin. This is not a bad thing but if you are in a hurry that may be a problem! However, The Heavenly Vanilla did seem to help with my peeling arms. That is due to working in the garden so much in the spring and early summer, so my arms got burned and the dead skin was peeling, but it became more like dry flakes after using the Body Butter Mega Moisture. The flakes are still visible but have diminished after using the Butter Mega Moisture Heavenly Vanilla so, I am going to keep using it! I absolutely love the vanilla scent!

Product Review Soak!

Soak Picture

I recently tried SOAK! And really liked it. One of my bras was falling apart and I didn’t want to wash it as it would just be a wreck after a machine washing….. So, I tried some SOAK! On it and it washed up beautifully! All you do is fill a bucket or bowl with whatever temperature of water that you want and add some SOAK! Let it sit for 15 minutes and then wring it out and let it dry. It’s that easy! I used the ‘celebration’ scent and like the smell! It reminded me of flowers and perfume. A nice combination in my mind! You can use this on blankets, wool sweaters, swim wear, silk dresses, under things, and anything else you don’t want to trust to your washing machine! It’s nicely priced at: 16.00 for a 425ML bottle rather affordable too! I liked that you don’t have to rinse it and that you can just let it dry. I was really impressed with SOAK! And I thought that it is pretty cool that it comes in 5 scents including: Floral, Celebration, Non-Scented, Aquae, and Citrus. All are really great! I like Floral, and Celebration best of all. You can buy soak at major retailers or online.
