Promo Codes, Promo Codes, Promo Codes

Being a single income family we do whatever we can to save money.  I do most of my shopping online and will never pay full price or pay shipping.  After all my items are in my online cart I go to checkout, then open another tab on my computer and search for promo codes that pertain to the store.  There are lots of websites that offer promo codes, some are good and some eh, are no so good.  Most stores will offer promo codes, Kohl’s you can use two (2) promo codes at a time!  By having two (2) browser windows open at the same time you can check which promo codes will best serve you.  Yea, it takes a few more minutes to finish your order, but it’s worth it to save a few bucks.  Better in your pocket than theirs, right?!

Review ~ Eco Bling reusable shopping tote

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

I received the Eco Bling bag featured above to review. I personally LOVE the idea of reusable bags, not only are they eco-friendly but they are cute too! One thing that sets this bag apart from other reusable bags is the cute design on the face of the bag. Even though it is a “brand” symbol on the front it is much cuter than the grocery store emblem plastered across the front of many bags I own. I feel very stylish when I pull this bag out to carry goods home! The only downfall of the facial design is the color…white…white gets dirty very easily, and although the bag can be washed I find it gets dirty very easily.

One plus to this bag is that there is a little pocket on the inside, which can fit keys, credit cards,  or a wallet. The pocket is a very handy feature. The bag is also very large …the height of the bag is wonderful; it far surpasses the height of my other bags, making it very deep. It can easily hold a large cereal box or two with room to spare! However, I do have to say that the width leaves something to be desired. I personally like wide box bottom bags, but this is a personal preference …the eco bling bag is the standard width of most reusable bags …so if you have never experienced the luxury of having a wide box bottom bag…you will not miss the feature! I also wish the handles on the bag were larger so that I could throw it over my shoulder…as designed it has to be held in the hand or over the elbow.

Overall, this is a delightful bag, one that I will definitely add to my stash of reusable bags when I go on a shopping adventure! Kudos to Eco Bling for making a fashionable shopping tote!

***Closed****12 Days of Christmas Giveaways – Day 5 – Frecklebox Personalized Gift

Congratulations Karen F! You won our Frecklebox giveaway! Thanks to all who entered and to the Frecklebox for sponsoring this giveaway! Winner chosen by random.org

We recently read that someone else who uses Random.org found out that if you tweet alot that will help you win. So tweet, tweet, tweet!

On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to YOU – a Frecklebox.com Personalized Gift!

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

A few weeks ago I received a personalized gift from Frecklebox.com in the form of a personalized clipboard.

This personalized clipboard is actually very nice, imho (in my humble opinion). I requested that our last name be on our clipboard, not Tristan. :-) The clipboard is a white sturdy plastic clipboard with the personalized background covering just the front side. Over the weeks it has held up well, just a teeny bit of curling up on the bottom corners and a few pen marks from a certain two-year-old in our house. He had also taken a marker to it at one point, but thankfully it just wiped right off like a dry erase marker. Only it was not a dry erase, I believe it was a crayola or a sharpie and I used a baby wipe.

Overall, I am very pleased with the personalized clipboard and I’d consider purchasing more for our farm next spring to keep our CSA and farmers market stand more organized.

Frecklebox also carries other ideas for personalized gifts as well. They offer personalized books, personalized party favors, personalized puzzles, personalized journals, and so much more.

Grasshopper Snip, Glue and Grow Preschool Kit Review

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Grasshopper Kit Snip, Glue and Grow

School has started and so has the back-to-school routine. But what about our preschoolers? What are we doing to prepare them for school? They are often interested in anything “school” related when they know older children who go to school. Yet so often kids get tired of workbooks and handwriting. Grasshopper Kits are a perfect activity for parents and preschool teachers to use with their preschoolers, not to mention FUN!

About GRASSHOPPER®

GRASSHOPPER® Preschool Prep Kits are designed to get kids ready for school all through play: no workbooks… no pencils… 100% fun!

According to The American Academy of Pediatrics, the average 3 year old is spending 3-4 hours with electronics such as television and video games each day.

The current recommendation states that parents need to introduce more active, goal-directed play into their children’s routine. GRASSHOPPER® Preschool Prep Kits are the answer. Children play games while achieving functional success. All GRASSHOPPER® kits are packed with exclusive materials and games to help create a smooth transition into the world
of education.

GRASSHOPPER® games are clearly laid out in full color guide books with straight-forward instructions and supporting illustrations. All of the materials fit easily into the custom GRASSHOPPER® no-spill carrying case which is designed with organized compartments, an easy snap lid, and a built in easel.

The games all have a ‘back to basics’ slant, with a clever edge so that kids feel like they are playing while they are building their foundation skills for school. Help your child get ready for school the GRASSHOPPER® way!

Grasshopper Kit

Our Review

There are four Grasshopper kits altogether, the ABC and Shapes is a combined kit ($49.95), Getting Hands Ready ($29.95), and Snip Glue and Grow (29.95), which is the one we received. I was busy with the Back To School Guide the day that we where going to test this kit, so I told two of my daughters to take the younger children down and use the kit with them. I was surprised that it kept the children busy for at least a hour and a half. This kit is filled with age appropriate activities for preschool age children. Although my 1st and 2nd grade boys found it fun too. The great thing about this kit is that we have used it a few more times since then. Therefore the kit is not just a one time use as it can be used multiple times over until all the materials are gone.

From the ten hands-on games and activities the children participated in from the kit include: gluing little colored pom poms to cards with different characters on them, being creative with a bit of play dough, practicing cutting with scissors and practice cards, blowing bubbles with the bubbles, making paper chains. Everything needed isincluded in the kit. No extra trips to the store or multiple stores, definitely a mom pleaser with that feature! ;-)

The Snip, Glue and Grow Grasshopper Kit ($29.95) gets a thumbs up from us. I hope to order the ABC and Shape kit for my little ones, so I will let you know how those are in the future.

Keeley Crocs for Back to School

I received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While I consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, my review is my honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

If you are shopping for kids footwear, you might want to consider Crocs for back to school. We featured the Keeley Crocs in our Back to School Guide earlier, but we also received a pair to review.

About Keely Crocs

They are odor resistant, ergonomic, lightweight, comfortable, anti microbial, fun, active casual footwear. Available in sizes 4-13 and a variety of colors.

Retail $24.99

August 11 2010 005

Our Review

We have never owned a pair of Crocs, so these shoes are new to us, even though we have heard about them. Our daughter was thrilled to receive her Keeley Crocs. They are pink – her favorite color and fit her perfectly. She said they are comfortable and easy to get on and off. She now chooses her Crocs first over her old shoes, which are also pink. More time is needed to see how long they hold up over time. They seem well made and sturdy enough. For now, they are a favorite at our house and we think they are very cute! :-)

Product Review Forget Me Not Jewelry

I received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While I consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, my review is my honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

I received the Malorie Bracelet: I found this bracelet to be very comfortable and not able to slide off my wrist as other bracelets have. It is very pretty and I liked the fact that the attachment part to the jewelry on both sides did not fall off at ALL! :) She made it very sturdy and is very pretty with blue and crystal beads. The blue was in all different shades which was very nice! :) Here is her description of it: “This bracelet, almost identical to the Norah anklet, is made with turquoise seed beads, crackle glass beads and small pale blue beads. The beads are looped on silver eye pins and the bracelet closes with a darling rosebud toggle clasp.” I really liked this bracelet. And the other jewelry that she makes!

Supermarket Smarty

I received the following product free in exchange for writing a review. While I consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, my review is my honest opinion and thoughts of the book.

SupermarketSmarty4

The Supermarket Smarty is a nifty little reusable grocery list – everything is listed right there in a five-fold, double sided card that is approximately 8.25″ x 4″. It comes with a larger clip magnet so you can clip your list to it and hang on the refrigerator, a dry erase marker and a reusable meal planner card. Inside it has an extra blank side for Notes. It also includes a magnifying “glass” or window in the front of the card to help shoppers read the small print in the ingredient lists on products. There’s even a little pocket inside that coupons could be kept in.

SupermarketSmarty2

The grocery list itself is broken down into food groups and product categories. The creator even included healthy tips and a symbol key, as well as W.H.A.T? Whole grain, Healthy Oils, Added Sugars and Trans Fat – Important questions to ask before buying processed food.

SupermarketSmarty3

I have found it to be a very useful tool and I really like the healthy emphasis. I usually keep a magnetic pad of paper on my refrigerator so that we can jot down items as our supply runs low or we notice we have run out. This is better because the pages do not peel off and it is reusable. I truly like it.

The Supermarket Smarty costs $12.99 and may be purchased at http://www.supermarketsmarty.com/
