Flexible Spending Accounts Can Save Your Family 40%

FSAstore

It’s been a number of years since we did any health care “shopping” and it really isn’t a problem if you know your way around, however, it can get overwhelming because of the various options available. Something like, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), can offer relief from increasing health care costs, because these benefit plans rely on pre-tax money for qualified health expenses.

Not only can you save on FSA eligible products, but an FSA also gives you access to health care services and thousands of everyday products such as sunscreen, contact lens solution, band-aids, heat wraps and baby care – a bonus for families like ours.

How Does FSAs Work?

Each FSA plan year, employers take money out of your paychecks based on how much you choose to set aside. Beginning in 2013, FSA plan contributions are limited to $2,500 per person. Before you get an FSA, it is vital to calculate how much you want to spend using your FSA.

A word of caution…because FSAs are “use it or lose it” any money unspent is forfeited when your plan year ends. Some employers provide a grace period – or an extension of coverage – up to two and a half months. One big deadline coming up is March 15. Do you have FSAs? Better check to see if you need to use any of your FSA funds before March 15.

FSAstore.com is a one-stop-shop stocked exclusively with thousands of FSA-eligible products, a national provider database and a Learning Center that answers FSA-related questions. You can save on FSA-eligible products throughout the year with FSA Store’s special offers. Check these out before your grace period ends on March 15.

Decluttering Made Easy Giveaway

Decluttering Made Easy

Decluttering and organizing has been a recurring theme here at Faith and Family Reviews. It started with a new year and setting goals. Then the news of my mom’s three week visit, which is now only a week away! Eeeks…..going to be busy this weekend!

When I was pitched to review and share about a brand new Decluttering Made Easy ecourse another blogger developed I thought it was an appropriate topic as so many of us do seem to struggle with staying organized and keeping clutter to a minimum.

Decluttering Made Easy is a 52-week long ecourse that includes coaching, exclusive website membership and access to the Decluttering Made Easy Community Facebook page and private forum.

Each week members will receive tips, ideas and an actual assignment for the week to declutter their home and get better organized. Time management is also discussed. Included with the weekly assignments are 15 minute how-to videos, PDF assignments and goal sheets (beginning lessons).

What I Liked About Decluttering Made Easy

The questions and suggestions are great and help make decluttering decisions of what to keep and what to get rid of and how.

Encouragement and support through the Decluttering Made Easy online community, IF you make use of it.

What I Didn’t Like About Decluttering Made Easy

Tiffany really didn’t show us examples or what she personally does. Guess I wanted proof of what she was learning herself. I love real life testimonies and photos of before and after a decluttering session. I would have loved to see what her home looked like and how she stays organized. She does tell her story but you have to read about it on the forum, at least I did.

The course is a bit long and cumbersome, at least for this busy working mom. Even though each lesson was 15 minutes long, the thought of having to sit down and listen to a video, do an assignment etc. made me feel a little overwhelmed to be honest. These days I need something simplified, like the 5 Days to a Clutter Free House.

Sears Patio Furniture #GrillingisHappiness @Sears #Ad

This is the first year winter has gone by fast for me. I spend all winter looking forward to spring and summer. What about you? Warmer weather will be here soon, considering it’s only a month before it is officially spring. Warm weather brings longer days (yay!), BBQs and lots of outdoor activities. Sears believes outdoor living is a lifestyle, not just a seasonal must-have.

Remember last year when I did a post about my dream patio and included Sears patio furniture? I am still dreaming of that patio. If you are looking for a new patio set, you’ve gotta check out this new lighted patio furniture Sears has available!

lighted Patio_Sears

This exclusive patio set will extend your time outdoors with the Halley collection of patio furniture from La-Z-Boy and Bella Luna collection of patio furniture from Agio – only at Sears.

Don’t let the outdoor fun stop there though, Sears also has this new Kenmore Elite Grill for this summer of 2013. It has three burners, 692 sq. inches of cooking space and a warming rack.

We can agree that Sears patio furniture and grills offer sophisticated outdoor furniture to match your taste and pocket book. Get ready for warmer weather by heading to Sears for all your summertime needs! http://bit.ly/Yy6TVk

Sears All Things Baby Sale #Baby @Sears #Spon

Sears All Things Baby Sale

New parents often have a long list of items to purchase and to do before their little bundle of joy arrives. There’s the baby nursery to prepare, a pediatrician to choose and a birth to plan. It is mentally, physically and emotionally exhausting and stress can take its toll if expectant parents are not careful. Added stress can be finances. If you are expecting or already have a new baby, the Sears All Things Baby sale is just for you! Relaxing techniques are physically helpful but baby sales are wallet savers! http://bit.ly/124Q0ne

Making Money from Junk

I am sure you have heard or read stories about people who are making money from junk or er…stuff. During hard economic times many people sell stuff for cash just to make ends meet.

Garage Sale

There are many ways to sell stuff for cash. Used clothing or furniture stores will often take things on consignment. Of course, the store gets a cut of the profit too. eBay has been a huge success for some people and some have even created a part-time or full-time eBay business out of their endeavor to sell their stuff. Craigslist and garage sales are other popular ways to make money by selling things that have been sitting for years or that have some value to pull in some quick cash. For those who have jewelry to sell Cash for Gold may be the way to go for that, but it’s always keep your gold pieces in sight at all times – at least that is what we have been told. We had a friend who had a “Gold party” and knew a reputable person who bought gold in exchange for cash. That is the way we would probably sell gold.

We have never actually been successful selling our stuff. We sold a car when Robert was laid off or just after he went back to work. We’ve been trying to sell some used counter tops that have been sitting in our townhouse garage for oh… 4-5 years and NEW wall paper but hardly any interest in either of those things. I understand the wall paper as that’s very personal and unique but the counter top I figured would get sold to a someone who does rehabbing.

Garage sales have not been profitable for us either, then again we’ve only had one and it was such a bust my husband said NEVER again.

So how do people make money from selling their junk? I don’t have the answer to that, I only know they can and do. If you know the secret, I sure would love to be privy to it so we can sell some of our unwanted junk.

Mommy’s Bliss

Establishing a soothing bedtime routine for your child is the best way to encourage a deep, restful sleep.  I have always thought this way and even do certain routines myself to wind down for the night.  Ever since my son was about a month old we would give him a bath, massage him with cream, read stories and say prayers, and have a bottle.  Now that he is three, we still do the exact same routine except he has a small snack instead of a bottle.  I have always believed that having this bedtime routine and sticking to it, has not only made him a good sleeper, but has helped him to fall asleep on his own.  We even play an ocean sound machine in the background and dim the lights throughout the routine.  I was anxious to try Mommy’s Bliss products, since they would only enhance our bedtime routine.

MommysBliss1

Mommy’s Bliss has three products to encourage a wonderful night sleep for babies.  They include a Sweet Slumber 3-in-1 Baby Wash, Sweet Slumber Massage Cream, and Sweet Slumber Mist.  All three products contain soothing extracts of lavender, chamomile, and ylang ylang that are associated with relaxation and sleep.  Begin with the Sweet Slumber 3-in-1 Baby Wash.  This can either be added to warm bath water to make a soothing bubble bath, or added to a washcloth as a shampoo and/or body wash.  My son has sensitive skin so I am always cautious as to what I bathe him in.  I used it as a shampoo and bodywash for him and loved how easily it lathered and rinsed off.  It is a very gentle and mild wash.  Once dry, I applied the Sweet Slumber Massage Cream onto his skin.  It was a very soft feeling cream that made his skin feel silky smooth.  It was also very gentle on his sensitive skin.  Finally, I sprayed the Sweet Slumber Mist on his pajamas, blanket, and pillow.  He asked me why I was doing that, and I told him the sweet smell would help him relax and fall asleep.  He loved that idea!  I even sprayed it on my pillow and felt relaxed immediately.

MommysBliss2

All three Mommy’s Bliss products smell amazing.  They have a sweet and calming smell that is not overwhelming or overpowering.  The next morning his bedding still had the lavender aroma.  Mommy’s Bliss products are 100% vegetarian & vegan, contain no artificial fragrances or petroleum, contain no alcohol, parabens, or harsh chemicals, and are free of gluten and soy.  These products can be purchased at Walgreens. I am looking forward to using all three Mommy’s Bliss products on my newborn to begin a relaxing and soothing bedtime routine from early on.

SuperPretzel Pretzel Dogs

What do you get when you combine a cocktail hot dog and a pretzel?  A lot of happy Super Bowl fans!  I had a small family gathering for the Super Bowl and served SuperPreztel Pretzel Dogs.  Besides my lack of mustard, they were a hit!  So much so, that when I was done making sure everyone was settled. They were GONE!

Pretzels 1

SuperPretzel Pretzel Dogs come in 3 flavors – Originial, Cheddar Cheese, and Jalapeno. They are beef hot dogs and are very easy to make!

Preheat your oven to 275 degrees, Place your 12 Pretzel Dogs on a cookie sheet and let them thaw for about 15 minutes. This is a VERY important step. I probably only let mine thaw for 5 minutes and they were not done after the 8 to 9 minutes of baking time. I just baked them a few minutes more until they were done. However, the next time I make these I will let them thaw as the box suggests. There are also instuctions to cook them in the microwave which SuperPretzel recommends over the oven.

Pretzels 2

Your little ones will love these Pretzel Dogs, they are easy for small fingers to handle and fun to eat!

SuperPretzels Preztel Dogs can be found in your local stores freezer section.
